McDonald’s Make the News by Offering Shamrock Shake
So what are people talking about these days? Google it and chances are you will see that many are talking about the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. A shake? Really? Well, the good news for us here at Fontis is that you need water after you drink a shake! But we digress.
Yes, it appears that the international food chain is once again offering a limited time product and for the first time ever, the Shamrock Shake is being offered nation wide.
The fast food chain announced Wednesday that the minty green milkshake would be available in all 14,000 U.S. restaurants through March 25. It was stated that the suggested price for the shake is $1.89, although prices will differ by market.
The shake was first introduced in 1970, and since that time McDonald’s had left it up to local market operators to decide whether to offer the seasonal treat. The cold shake is usually offered in the weeks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, and last year McDonald’s states that about half their stores offered the tasty treat.
According to the McDonald’s website, the Shamrock Shake has 540 calories and 16 grams of fat for a small, or 840 calories and 24 grams of fat for a large. The shake is made of reduced fat vanilla ice cream and syrup. However for some, calories make no difference when it comes to enjoying this shake during the holidays!
