St. Patrick’s Day in Atlanta

May the luck of the Irish be with you all, and may you all be able to get out and enjoy some of the great events happening in Atlanta this weekend. From Dahlonega to Savannah there are events taking place all over Georgia, but one needs to go no further than Atlanta to celebrate the wearing of the green. Love a good parade? If so then you will not want to miss the 132nd Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day parade. This year’s parade will begin at Peachtree and 15th streets and ends at Peachtree and 5th. More than 2,000 Irish dancers will take part in the parade along with musicians, floats and local Irish dignitaries. The beautiful Budweiser Clydesdales will also march in this year’s parade.

Eateries throughout Atlanta will also celebrate the day with some great events. Help support St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer on March 14 at Fado Irish Pub and at Meehan’s Irish Pub in Sandy Springs. The foundation uses the holiday to help fundraise money to benefit childhood cancer. You can dive in and support the cause all the way by shaving your head or you can donate to the fund. Meehan’s will also be the place for the 3rd annual ShamRock the Station, which offers fun for the entire family, complete with food and drink specials.
