If you are running a road race anytime from now until December in the metro Atlanta area, the chances are pretty good that the race is being run by Zulu Racing. Zulu, which is based in Atlanta, provides complete, professional, race timing services and finish line management. The company prides itself on professional results no matter the size of your road race. They actually promote themselve as a “great alternative for small races who want professional results at reasonable rates!” And we at Fontis are proud to be a Friend of Zulu Racing.
The president of Zulu is Michael Buckelew. A graduate of Auburn University (War Eagle!), Michael was blessed with a passion to run and race in triathlons. He has completed more than 20 International distance triathlons, marathons, 1/2 Ironman and the Florida IronMan! And on top of that, he recently graduated from the World Harvest Bible Institute with an associates degree in Biblical studies. He and his entire team make it their goal to make sure you are completely pleased with your race event.
Zulu Racing offers sophisticated timing using the new MYLAPS Bib Tag Timing System. For smaller races they offer a more conventional timing method which consists of chutes, pull tab and/or place cards. Your event results can be listed on their results site or they can provide you with results in a format, ready for posting on your site. The Zulu team will also generate the race placement list prior to your scheduled award ceremony.
Zulu also has its own race series and in the next few months they will be hosting a number of local races. A few include Run Zulu 5K on June 16 in Dunwoody, Area 13.1 Half Marathon on August 18 in Roswell and the Frogtown Trail Challenge on October 13 in Cumming.
